The time using on this app for Vietnamese also doubled from 4% in 2020 to 8% in 2021.
TikTok is the new platform for young, hip Vietnamese people that has the most popular trends rather than legacy platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube .
This short video app which hosts clips lasting between 15 and 60 seconds is apparently designed for virality. In Vietnam, young people are constantly in the search for trends to follow and cover on Tiktok. They adapt well to everything Tiktok and are quick to learn tricks to make their short videos stand out.
They are also open-minded about creating and consuming new types of content. The Vietnam community has a high need for interaction and sharing, as compared to other countries in SEA region.
